String Teacher Position for Community Arts Center

The River Raisin Centre for the Arts in Monroe, MI has an opening for a string specialist to share teaching duties for the Arts Centre Orchestra. This person would be responsible for teaching a beginning string class and a training orchestra on Monday evenings in downtown Monroe. The salary for this position will be $100 per night of class. Classes meet from the middle of September through the beginning of May and include two performances.

Additionally, this person is expected to be available to teach lessons through the River Raisin Centre for the Arts School of Music once a week.

A music degree is preferred but students working toward a degree will certainly be considered.

Interested parties should contact Ann Felder for more information.

2009 Summer Board Retreat info

Hello MASTA Board Members,

I've finalized our meeting location for August 6 at 4pm.  We will once again be meeting at MSBOA headquarters in Okemos.  We held our meeting there last year and it provides a centrally located area, big meeting rooms, and places to spread out if we need to. For directions, click
here.

To keep costs down, let's all plan to bring our own food and drink for dinner.  The MSBOA office does have a refrigerator and a microwave should you need to use it.  If you would like to bring something to share, by all means you are welcome to do so.
