General Information

We welcome string players from 5th through 12th grades who have played for at least one year. Ensembles are formed according to each player’s age and level of experience. Each student is assigned to two groups. Each group learns from three to five pieces. ACM will provide each student with a binder of music on the first day of camp. Two pieces are chosen for performances at the end of comp. The second Thursday is an in house performance for the other campers and some parents. The last Friday is the grand finale bar-b-q concert for parents, teachers and their friends.
 
Existing ensembles are encouraged to attend.

ACM has two coaches. Marla Smith and Constance Markwick are both teachers and performers in the Metro area. They have played numerous chamber music concerts, both together and separately. This is the 10th year of Adventures in Chamber Music!

The camp takes place at First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak. It is located east of Woodward, ½ mile north of the Detroit Zoo.
